Saving the dead.

Aidan O'Brien September 4, 2026 4:19 PM 1

After helping Anca at the convent in The Blood of Dawnwalker, you will make a terrible discovery. The possessed nun you fought and killed wasn't the cause of the terrible curse that animated the dead; she was trying to stop it. Filled with grief for her part in this, Anca will be desperate to finish the hex, but should you let her?

Should you let Anca finish the ritual at the convent in The Blood of Dawnwalker?

The main concern here will be that Anca can somehow be injured during the ritual, so I will point out that if she completes the ritual, no harm will come to her. Don't burn the notes; let her perform the ritual to cleanse the church, and she will be grateful. If you don't, it will lead to an argument between the two of you.

Most importantly, at this point, if you allow her to perform the ritual, it will end the curse, freeing the walking dead and allowing you to safely explore the rest of the monastery without the need for endless fighting against reanimating corpses. Not much esle will be said until the very end of the game, although I will return and update this guide if future playthroughs reveal any secrets.
